An InvenTree alternative with no server to run
Summary: InvenTree is open-source inventory software under the MIT licence, designed to be installed on your own server. NiftyForger is a hosted parts inventory: you sign up and use it, and the servers are our job.
What running InvenTree involves
InvenTree's documentation recommends installing it with Docker on a Debian-based Linux server. It needs Python 3.12 or newer, a database, and a web proxy to serve its files. Keeping it running means applying updates, backing up the database and keeping the server secure.
What NiftyForger saves you
- No server. Nothing to install, update or secure. Sign up and use it in a browser, on a computer or a phone.
- Built for a small workshop. Parts, purchase orders, sales orders and assemblies, without a long setup first.
- Parts described by what they are. Each category has its own attributes (resistance, package, tolerance), and you find a part by its values.
- Lily, a built-in assistant. Describe your stock in plain words or send a photo of a tray of parts or a packing slip, and she drafts it for you to check before anything changes.
- Your data stays yours. Download everything in your workspace whenever you like.
